Heather's "spark" for last Friday was to make something red, and blue. This was a little treat box I have been wanting to decorate for a long time but never managed to get around to doing it.
Recognize the box Heather?? It was part of one of our Cocoa Dasiy kits from a few months ago. Gotta love those kits!!! SO much cool stuff in them!! I f you haven't checked them out you need to :)
The box was covered with paper from a 2002 pack of Amerciana papers by Provo Craft. 2002!!! I didn't even know it was hiding among my goodies! I rediscovered it while reorganizing my crafty space last week! <lol> It was amazing what all I found **wink, wink** Anyway, I covered the sides of the bottom and the top of the lid with the same navy blue paper with white stars. After sanding the edges of both, I decided to leave them the way they were - I liked the "simple" look of it.
Next, I took pieces of three different red and white ribbons, folded in half, then secured them with a red metal star brad. This was then adhered to the top of the star lid. It's a very simple little box, but I like it.
Sometimes you just need to make something simple.
I wanted a little bit of sparkle on the box so I added some "fireworks" with a Sakura silver glitter pen.
So there's my "spark"!!
Supplies include: Provo Craft American paper; ribbon and brad from stash; Sakura silver glitter pen.
**Hope you guys have been working on the Saturday Night Challenge <wink>. You still have lots of time to get it finished and posted to the comment section on this blog. Deadline is Wednesday evening with the winner being posted Thursday. "
