Anyone who has read this blog knows that I love animals of all kinds, but cats in particular. I am owned by four of the smartest, cutest, sweetest critters around...totally rambunctious Spike, sweet, shy Buddy, handsome, gentle Jackie and our beautiful, totally "girlie" Princess Phoebe *smile* So it should not come as any type of surprise that I also enjoy cat stamps!
This new one by Rubber Soul is no exception!! The expression in this cat's eyes is so intense and wonderful - just like our furry people *wink*
The image is stamped on vellum, which was placed over a layer of white card stock with the sentiment stamped at the bottom. The gray layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the finished layers were adhered to a black card base.
I wanted to add a little tint of color to the eyes, so I colored them green on the backside of the vellum. This gave me the faint color I was hoping for...
The sentiment says "You are the friend everybody wishes they had" - which is true - you can't ask for a better friend than a cat!! Unless it's a graceful greyhound!
Cats take care of their "people" - they keep us up on our culinary skills by demanding three gourmet meals a day. They help us exercise by scattering toys and hairballs all around the house - this also keeps our housecleaning abilities at their peak!! Leave stuff scattered on the kitchen counter? Never fear, one will happily hop on the counter and clean that counter with one swooping swipe of a paw! There's usually at least one who will do bathroom duty - you know, checking the depth and swirlability of the toilet water and, also, making sure the toilet paper rolls smoothly off the holder. If you are prone to leaving eyeglasses and other valuables lying around, a cat will put them in a safe place. Too bad they can't talk so they can actually tell you where this "safe place" is - you have to figure that out on your own, which hones your powers of observation and deduction. Don't worry about oversleeping - cats wake up bright and early and will make sure you don't sleep the day away. So you see, cats take very good care of their people in SO many ways!!

I absolutely love and must have that stamp! It is the spitting image of my oldest cat Reggie--I am going to e-mail you a picture of him, Pat--you won't believe how much that stamp looks like his sweet face. Reggie is 18 years old, believe it or not. And the most loyal friend anyone could ask for. My other cats are Chloe (who will be 15 March 22), Buddy, Toby, and Nino. Like you I love cats and anything cat related. How many 35 year old women have (and will admit to it) a Hello Kitto themed bedroom? I admit it I am smitten with kittens, crazy for cats, etc.
