What was supposed to be a "possibility of snow flurries" has turned into more than 6 inches of snow and it's still coming down! SO pretty!! Some people are anxious for Spring but I'm quite happy with the snow. With all the snow and temps in the teens, it's a perfect night to stay indoors and stamp!!
Last week's challenge was to make a Valentine card using a stamp that is NOT a Valentine themed stamp.
Check out the following blogs for some really creative cards...
I was still in a Valentine mood this week but wanted to try something different.
I like to think of this as my potpourri card cause it is truly a mixture of a little bit of everything. The Heart cuttlebug folder was used on the pink background paper; Memory Box's Sonoma Print stamp created the floral background strip with tiny pink Memory Box pearls dotting the centers of the bigger flowers. The hearts were punched with Marvy Giga and Mega punches. Doodldebug white glitter edges the red heart. The cute little penguin is from A Muse Art Stamps.
The tiny hearts on the "fishing line" ( which is simply sewing thread) were left over after punching a border on another card with the Martha stewart heart border punch. The top of the line is threaded through a pinpoint hole at the end of the fishing pole and taped securely in place at the back of the heart. A tiny slot was punched at the bottom of the fishing line so the hearts can "disappear" into the water. The length of the "line" determines how far into the water the hearts disappear. "I love you" is written on the hearts and spells out a pleasant surprise for the recipient when the line is pulled from the water. Copics Y07 and BG10 were used to add color.
What to label this challenge??? Hmmm...it's gonna be a challenge to make a card, any theme, using a mish-mash of stamps, papers, techniques or embellishments. Make your own potpourri card!! Let your imagination run free for a little while and see what you come up with. When you are finished, link your creation in the comment section of this post. As always, anyone, anywhere can play along. Have fun!!
