A Valentine perfect for that special guy in your life - nothing frilly or girlie about this one!! Starting with a 3 1/4" x 5" piece of white Neenah, Antique Linen ink was applied lightly over the entire piece and the edges were distressed with Vintage Photo ink , using less pressure as I worked toward the center. Once I was happy with the look of the inked paper, the Hero Arts' Antique Keys were stamped on it. A paper distressing tool was used on the edges, and Vintage Photo was reapplied to the edges. This piece was backed with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of black card stock.
Next came the smaller white piece of card stock that was also inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks. The Memory Box Valentine sentiment was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The key was die cut from grunge paper and then to give it and old, antiquey look it was embossed with Tea Dye Distress Embossing Powder and sponged with Vintage Photo ink. The finished key was then glued to the smaller piece of inked paper, which was then backed with black card stock. The tiny red heart was the finishing touch. Voila'!! Love the masculine look of this card! It could easily be made as a birthday or retirement card, or any other occasion for which you might need a masculine card!!
The more I look at this card the more I think maybe I should add Glossy Accents to the heart to make it stand out - what do you?
I am having SO much fun creating colorful background papers with all the techniques I learned in Kathy's class at One Little Spark!! If you missed her last class don't fret - she'll be back in March with even more cool card making techniques!
Just in case we get snowed/iced in this week I have everything needed to finish up a set of Valentine Tags I started working on yesterday afternoon. Is it wrong to wish for snow???
